How it all started...
August 19th 2007, a rather damp Sunday morning and no real idea how many would show up.
We'd arranged to meet at Speakers Corner, Hyde Park and due to the weather we hoped 30 or so bockers would be present.
It was a pleasant surprise that the numbers grew and as we all started putting faces to names, we soon realised there were
more than 50 of us.
Infact, we had 1 international traveller, Zackiz, who had caught a flight from Sweden earlier in the morning to be with us.
Add that with people travelling from all over the UK, we had what was a pretty spectacular day and as things progressed, so did the weather.
We moved on to Buckingham Palace where all the tourists turned their cameras away from the palace and locked onto the bockers.
From there we headed to Picadilly Circus where we quite literally took over and stopped traffic. Then on to Trafalgar Square where the warm public were
equally as keen to see us.
The aim was to bring some awareness to the sport and we certainly achieved that. It was quickly decided soon afterwards that in 2008 the event will move
to Cardiff, the Capital City of Wales as Cardiff Bay offers one of the best bocking spots in the country.
